MISSION STATEMENT
We’re Changing the Way the World Thinks About Astronomy Clubs
Welcome to Vale Stargazing, a recently formed membership club of friendly people who share a passion for the beauty of the night sky and the countless wonders that lie amongst the stars.
Located in the beautiful Vale of Clwyd, close to the historic town of Denbigh, with easy access, we are privileged to have the facilities of Lleweni Park Gliding and Flying school at our disposal. A very large open area under a very dark sky where we hold regular meetings, presentations by guest speakers, observation and imaging sessions and occasional special Outreach events.
So many established societies have struggled to remain active and dynamic, with ageing members and declining attendances usually down to the non-attractiveness to the younger generation, and this is certainly true of astronomy societies. We all came into this world equal, we gained knowledge on our journey, and it is incumbent on us to share that knowledge and expertise.
Vale Stargazing is a family orientated club, not encumbered by copious rules. We will broaden our horizons together, enjoying and contributing to a welcoming, friendly environment devoted to our common passion for the stars and the wonders that abound among them.
We firmly believe that in this way we will overcome the steady demise of far too many astronomy groups and build a progressive, inclusive and diverse club where all are equally respected and valued members of the “family”, collectively educating ourselves and others “among the stars”.
